This guide is for those of you who have a medium or large dog (10 kg +).

Toys for medium and large dogs should be durable and of a size that allows the dog to spend time and effort playing with it.
Many owners of larger dogs (or dogs with powerful jaws) find that their toys break quickly – which is both annoying and expensive. We always choose toys that are at least made of sturdy materials, but we can never guarantee that toys will not break. After all, it is also better if it is the toy that gives way – and not your dog’s teeth or your new shoes.
Sturdy jute toy
The toy from Green & Wild's is made with a focus on durability and natural materials. It is double-stitched over four layers of jute and filled with either cotton/jute rope, waste cotton or a recycled plastic bottle. The toy is therefore both natural and recyclable.
Rope toys
The rope toy from Nordog is made of strong rope and is ideal as a throwing and pulling toy for medium and large dogs. Nordog is Danish-made with a focus on sustainability and durable materials. The rope toy is available in seven different colors.
Activity toys
Activity toys help shift the focus to the reward, so many dogs don't immediately tear the toy apart. They're great for dogs who get bored with regular toys quickly – or who tend to destroy them. You can vary the difficulty and motivation with wet food, dry food or treats.
“Edible” toys
If activity toys aren't appealing enough, "edible" toys can be the right choice. Here we're thinking of chew bones that your dog can spend a long time on - some for hours, others for days. They have minimal odor and are typically low in fat, so you don't have to worry about calorie intake.
Good choices – quick overview
• Choose sizes that fit your dog's mouth – small toys can be swallowed.
• Look for materials such as jute, strong rope or durable natural rubber.
• Use activity toys if your dog gets bored quickly – or tends to destroy toys.
• Supervision is recommended with chew bones and hard toys – especially for strong chewers.
