Grooming a Rottweiler

Maintenance
It is recommended to brush a Rottweiler 1–2 times a week to remove loose hair and keep the coat shiny. Baths are given as needed – typically every 4–8 weeks depending on activity level and dirt.
Brushing
A Rottweiler has a short, dense coat with an undercoat that sheds – especially during shedding periods. Regular brushing with a brush designed for short-haired breeds helps remove loose hair and stimulate the skin's natural oils.
Clipping
A Rottweiler should not be clipped. The coat acts as natural protection against both cold and heat, and clipping can disrupt its ability to regulate temperature.
Special attention
Pay extra attention to the elbows, as the skin here can easily become dry and crack. Also, keep an eye on any skin folds where dirt and bacteria can accumulate and lead to irritation.
Recommended grooming visits
A monthly bath is usually sufficient to help with shedding. Make sure to use a moisturizing shampoo that nourishes both coat and skin.

Paw care for Rottweilers
Paw pads and nose, which are not protected by fur, require extra care and moisture to prevent dryness.
Nail clippers for Rottweilers
Rottweilers are large and powerful dogs with strong nails, which require a suitably sized nail clipper to be trimmed safely and effectively.
A nail clipper for large dogs provides good control and the necessary strength to cut the nails in small, precise steps. This reduces the risk of hitting the quick and ensures a clean cut.
Choose a nail clipper suitable for large breeds, preferably with sharp blades and a good grip, to ensure maximum control and safety during clipping.
