Caring for a Papillon

Papillon Maintenance

It is recommended to brush the coat 2–3 times a week to prevent tangles and keep it clean. Baths should be given every 4–6 weeks with products suitable for the coat type.

Brushing a Papillon

The long, silky coat requires regular brushing to prevent matting and remove accumulated dirt.

Trimming a Papillon

Clipping is not necessary, but the coat can be lightly trimmed around the paws and ears for better hygiene.

Special attention

 It is important to regularly check and clean the ears, as they can easily collect dirt due to their shape. Additionally, it is recommended to keep an eye on the paws and hindquarters to keep the area free of tangles.

Recommended grooming visits

Professional bath and brush every 4–6 weeks, along with checking ears, nails, and paw pads.
